Eglise Vivante Rebero to hold week-long crusade ahead of Easter celebration

As many ready themselves for Easter celebrations, Eglise Vivante de Jesus Christ Rebero is also in preparations for a week-long crusade, with the purpose to help believers reflect on the significance of Easter (death and resurrection of the Savior Jesus Christ).

The crusade, which is scheduled to run from March 24 to 31 at the church, will be held under the theme taken from Psalms 24:7 highlighting that Easter is a period that opens the locked gates.

On Palm Sunday, March 24, the service will start at 9 am and end at 12pm.

During the Passover week running from March 25 to 29, services will start at 5:30 pm and end at 7:30 pm. Specifically on Easter Sunday, March 31 the service will start at 9am and end at 12pm.

According to Pastor Edmond Kivuye, Senior Pastor of Eglise Vivante de Jesus Christ, the crusade was organised to help believers understand the importance and sensitivity of Easter.

He explained that the event is in line with the church’s regular prayer program to help believers grow spiritually.

” Easter is a special moment in our church. It is the foundation of the church. The mission of Christ was fulfilled in his death and resurrection. It’s a good time to help believers understand it well,” Kivuye pointed out, adding that observing Easter is also in line with God’s command for his people to reflect on the redemptive work through Jesus Christ.

Reflecting on Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 15:12-20, he says that if we do not believe in the resurrection of Jesus, our faith is in vain.

” We have the testimony of those who were delivered during the time of Easter. I invite everyone to come and experience the power of Easter in their lives, because it is so important for the life of the church,” the pastor added.

Eglise Vivante was founded in 1992 to proclaim the good news of Christ to the world. The church is also engaged in development activities such as the construction of schools, hospitals and charitable centres.
