Evangelical Friends church of Rwanda organises 5 days of fasting and prayer

Evangelical Friends Church of Rwanda is set to begin a five-day fasting and prayer period in preparation for the second trimester of the year.

Rev. Aaron Mupenda, Spokesperson of Evangelical Friends church of Rwanda and Senior pastor of Eglise des Amis Kagarama, explained that this period of prayer comes every trimester to ask God for guidance and protection in the next period of three months.

“We spend this period in prayer asking God for guidance and protection in the next trimester. This is done in line with the church’s action plan. We are entering the second trimester, that’s why we organised the activity to pray for the months of April, May and June,” Mupenda said.

The week-long event is expected to run from March 24 to 28 with evening services that will be held at Eglise des Amis Kagarama in Kicukiro. Weekly services will start from 5:30 pm to 8pm, and on Sunday 24, the church will host two services from 8 am to 10 am and 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Prayers will have a focus on redemption since the activity will be coinciding with the celebration of Easter.

Easter is all about redemption, that’s why the theme of the prayer time will focus on redemption and life of a redeemed person, Mupende said.

The week-long session will feature various seasonal preachers including Pastor Hortence Mazimpaka, Pastor Hubert Sugira Hategekimana, and Pastor Didier Habimana.

“Sermons will focus on true redemption that helps every believer to personally know Christ and know their responsibility as true believers and what they are called to do,” he added.

The event will be graced by the Elevation worship team, Moriah worship from Kanombe, Injili Bora and CGFK Worship Team.

Mupende invites everyone to come and experience the presence of God as well as seek new strength, saying that the word of God never excludes anyone.
