Rwanda Gospel Stars Live is back with a ‘renewed touch’

Rwanda Gospel Stars Live is making a comeback with significant improvements. The organizers have introduced changes to ensure a better experience compared to the previous edition, which faced challenges affecting its credibility.

Launched in 2021, the initiative initially aimed to provide financial support to artistes and promote their work. However, the first edition fell short of its goals, marred by unexpected issues that left participating artistes disheartened.

In response to lessons learned from the initial challenges, the organizers have implemented changes to enhance the initiative’s effectiveness for beneficiaries. Unlike the first edition that focused on established artistes, this season aims to discover and promote young talents from all parts of the country.

The upcoming second edition, themed “Manifest Your Talent for a Better Future,” will feature pre-selection events in various locations, including Rusizi, Rubavu, Musanze, Huye, Kigali, and Rwamagana. These changes are geared towards creating a more successful and inclusive platform for aspiring gospel artistes.

Registration for all participants is free of charge. At each site only 3 best outstanding performers will be selected and will later compete at national level where 10 winners will be taken to a camp before reaching the final stage of the contest.

The prize money for the overall winner is Rwf 3 million, while the runners-up will receive Rwf 2 million and 1 million respectively and will have some of their songs produced. Also, the overall winner will serve as an ambassador for the initiative for a period of one year.

Rwanda Gospel Stars Live season two will be concluded by a mega praise and worship show in Kigali.

The pre-selection roadmap is as follows:

March 2: Rusizi District ( Western Province)

March 16: Musanze District ( Northern Province)

March 30: Rubavu District ( Western Province)

April 20: Huye District ( Southern Province)

May 4: Rwamagana District ( Eastern Province)

May 18: The City of Kigali
