Abaragwa Choir was formed shortly after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi as a children’s choir and later adopted its official name in 1998. To date, the choir consists of 80 active members.

Eric Iranzi, President of the choir, said that the main purpose of the crusade was to spread the gospel by witnessing the power of God.

“Today, people are desperate because of what is happening in the world: wars, famines, endless conflicts, expensive living conditions…Therefore, we need to comfort people that our God is capable of doing far more than we can imagine,” Iranzi noted.

Music director, Bahati Manigabe, said the choir is well-prepared for successful evangelism. He pointed out that through prayer and the power of God, they believe that many people will be converted.

He added that the choir will record new video songs to feature on their third audio-visual album.

Since its inception, the choir has been engaged in a variety of activities focused on evangelism and philanthropy such as donating health insurance to more than 100 people every year.

Abaragwa Choir has released three audio and two audio-visual albums to date.
