Dear Parents

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. – Deuteronomy 6: 5-7

Our families are in a state of crisis. Every day there is more horrific news about children committing suicide, being addicted to drugs and alcohol, and our youth in sexual relationships. Parents, teach your children God’s Word and get them in church and Sunday school so they learn about Jesus, His teachings, and will have God’s armor of protection all through life. Build that foundation in them. Have family dinners together and engage your children in conversation.

Don’t just sit them in front of the television or the computer. Many children are being forced to raise themselves for whatever reason. They are not getting the Biblical knowledge, parental love, and encouragement they need. The weak foundation that has been built is crumbling from underneath them and that’s when they often search other places for love and family. What they are finding are unhealthy coping mechanisms like alcohol, drugs, and sex. Parents need to be role models.

Raise your children in a Godly home with a foundation built with Jesus Christ and you will be giving them what they need to battle all of their worldly and spiritual battles.
