Sunday gospel music festival organised by ADEPR Nyarugenge Shalom Choir has been hailed as a milestone in a new age of gospel music in the country.
Shalom gospel festival displayed excellent preparations in terms of event promotion and best stage set up that enabled performers to deliver a joyful, exciting and engaging atmosphere of worship.

The free of charge festival was one of its kind and attracted people from all walks of life, church leaders and government officials, who were eager to experience a variety of music genres from their lovely ministers including Israel Mbonyi.
Shalom Choir is one of the best gospel music groups in the country and has been recognised in various gospel tournaments for its outstanding contribution to the progress of gospel music ministry in the county.
The Choir’s love and high reputation earned from its 40-year-music experience was proven on Sunday, September 17, 2023 as hundreds of thousands filled the 10,000- seater BK Arena, Rwanda’s historic indoor arena, a first of its kind in East, Central Africa. Hundreds of people returned home because seats were limited.
One of the event’s constituent successes was a total of over 100 new souls who accepted Jesus Christ as the saviour. During the event, the choir also launched, ‘Shalom charity’ programme to support less privileged people.
On the sideline of the festival, Shalom Choir also organised other activities including ADEPR youth seminar and shalom charity where 47 sewing machines were donated to needy single mothers from Kinyinya sector.
Rwanda’s gospel music in general has been evolving, and becoming as vibrant as ever, thanks to outstanding artistes and media that have given it a boost.
Among other recent gospel music events that proved a boost of this sector include Josh Ishimwe, Ambassadors of Christ, Emmy Vox, Messengers’ concerts.
