Addressing the press on Friday in Kigali, Dr. Fidele Masengo, the Senior Pastor of the church explained what the conference is all about, noting that in this case, the word ‘Ignite’ means ‘spreading the light to others,’ and is associated with the church’s name “CityLight”.

With reference to the book of Mathew 5:15, Masengo noted that the conference serves as an opportunity to shine the light to Africa and the world at large through connections with other churches and government agencies.

“It is a time to connect with different people,” he added.

Masengo emphasised on children and teen’s special teachings, saying that they will encourage the children and teens to grow like Jesus. The teachings will be delivered from Thursday to Saturday.

“When children are given a foundation in Christ, their parents given the light about parenting, and different professionals understand the gospel, there’s no doubt that Africa will be changed. That’s what makes this conference unique because we’re addressing different age groups and professions,” he added.

Also, the church will be engaged in an outreach programme to share the good news to many people starting from Kimironko market.

A new book on “Marriage” is expected to be launched during the conference.

Various seasonal speakers from the region and Rwanda are expected to deliver teachings on life changing subjects to children, women, evangelists, intercessors, youth, married couples and health care professionals.
