Over 300 souls receive Christ as True Promises, AEE proclaim the Gospel in Bugesera

A total of 319 new believers in Christ were registered following a week-long street and door to door evangelism organised and held in the villages of Ntarama sector in Bugesera district.

The evangelical campaign was organised by renowned gospel music group, True Promises Ministries in partnership with African Evangelistic Enterprise and Open Air Campaigners Rwanda.

It was part of raising awareness around the meaning of Easter celebrations as the gospel climax. Easter 2023 will take place April 9.

Titled, “Jesus Is All About Life,” the drive focused on unreached places where members of True Promises were deployed during the evening hours from 5:30-7:30pm every day. In addition to the messages delivered in person by the organisers, people also heard the gospel from public screenings of the 2004 film-The Passion of the Christ.

Also, on Saturday 24 March, True Promises Ministries had a friendly football game with Ntarama Cyclists’ Cooperative after a joint community service to clean the genocide memorial. In addition to the gospel, 50 vulnerable families were given health insurance, 15 kitchen gardens were built for poor families to fight malnutrition and 2 latrines were constructed, 500 sanitary pads were provided to young women in addition to other hygienic materials and clothes.

Sunday, 26 March marked the climax of the campaign as more souls were saved during an open air crusade following the sermon of Apostle Sosthene Serukiza whose focus was on salvation and eternal life.

Apostle Serukiza preached to hundreds saying that there is an eternal life reserved for only people who are born again, noting that Jesus came to free ‘us from the slavery of sin.’

“Jesus came to save us from the curse of sin. He renewed our old minds to new minds of holiness since he made us new creatures. Sin had brought negative thinking and death, but in Jesus, souls were redeemed and renewed,” he said.

The preacher also praised Christ’s victory over the devil, emphasising that we are children of God because Jesus fought and won for us. He concluded by calling people to repent and accept God’s mercy.
