True Promises Ministries, a renowned gospel music group, in partnership with African Evangelistic Enterprise (AEE), Open Air Campaigners Rwanda and Bugesera District has organised a week-long evangelical campaign which targets to take the good news of Christ to Ntarama residents as well as responding to their basic needs.
The goal of the campaign is to raise awareness around the meaning of Easter celebrations as the gospel climax.
Titled “Jesus is all about life,” the campaign will run from 20th -26th March 2023 and will feature different activities including door to door evangelism, pastors’ training, sports evangelism, open air crusade and a public screening of Jesus Christ’s film.
In social and health aspects, the organisers will donate health insurance to 50 vulnerable families, build 15 kitchen gardens for poor families to fight malnutrition and construct 2 latrines. Also, 500 sanitary pads will be provided to young women in addition to other hygienic materials and clothes.
Other activities include community service (Umuganda), a friendly football game between True Promises Ministries and Ntarama Cyclists’ Cooperative as a way to reach many people especially young ones with the gospel.
According to the organisers, the campaign will also help tackle ‘burning issues’ in the community such as drug abuse, stunting, and teen pregnancies.
Those who will accept Jesus Christ as their saviour will be guided to join neighbouring churches and possibly a new church may be planted. We are anticipating reaching 2000 people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
“Going out to proclaim the gospel of Christ is our main concern as disciples of Christ. We hope that God will enable us to win lost souls. When people receive Christ in their lives, they become good citizens who contribute to the development of the family and country as well.
Besides, we expect that this drive will help reduce domestic conflicts and bad behaviours especially among young people. It will increase hygiene, fight malnutrition and support needy families with basic needs,” says True Promises Ministries’ Legal Representative Mandela Ndahiriwe.
AEE Missions manager, George Nkurunziza, confirms that the campaign is one of the key events from diverse ones Africa Evangelistic Enterprise is organising in Rwanda in the partnership with different churches and Christian organisations in satellite and secondary cities of Rwanda, where they are anticipating reaching eight hundred thousand people (800,000) in the period of January to April 2023.
Though the campaign is in the context of Easter (Easter Sunday is on 9th April 2023), its essence goes beyond the event.
As the climax of Christian gospel and backbone of the Christian faith, Easter and the resurrection of Jesus Christ is a message that has shaken the world since the Church of Christ began, and it is still relevant to the modern world as Apostle Paul said in his first letter to Corinthians chapter 15:14.
In different parts of the country, AEE in partnership with University Student Unions will carry out different activities to reach out to the communities and hold training sessions for young believers and pastors.
