Australia is the next fortunate place to experience worship and praise with celebrated, award-winning gospel music star and guitarist, Israel Mbonyi.
He is set for a performance there in January and February 2023 in a series of live shows.
Mbonyi’s trip to this part of the globe is part of his world tour to promote his latest album ‘Icyambu,’ spread the gospel of Christ and connect with his fans.
Some would expect for Mbonyi to take a break seeing how the year 2022 has been busy for him, but as it turns out, the star is determined to connect and engage with his fans who are also evidently eager to praise and worship with him.
Besides the recent shows, including the successful Icyambu live concert on Christmas Day, in Kigali and some upcoming live shows in Bujumbura on December 31 and January 1, Mbonyi also travelled to Israel earlier this year in April, where he ministered in different cities such as Jerusalem and Carmel. The development was under the ‘Twende Jerusalem’ tour- an initiative by the Israel Embassy in Rwanda.
Shortly after his return, he continued his evangelical trip to Canada from where he launched his world tour. This was in May. In Canada, he had a series of concerts in various cities including Montreal, Ottawa, and Edmonton among others. Again, Mbonyi performed in various African countries such as Zimbabwe and Burundi. In all of his performances, Mbonyi who has been shown love by thousands of fans wherever he toured, never disappointed at any point.
Although 2022 is considered a special year for the artiste, his period of 8 years in the gospel music industry had already been characterised by awards and success.
Mbonyi’s massive following in Rwanda is proven by how his music can be heard from almost everywhere- in places of worship, at parties and religious gatherings. It is also used as mobile phone ringtones and can rarely be missed on individual music playlists.
Moreover, on various occasions, the artiste has been ministering to different countries including Israel, Belgium, Holland among others. In 2019, Mbonyi ministered alongside American gospel music legend Don Moen in Kigali. Mbonyi’s writing skills has proven him to be one of Rwanda’s favourites.
Mbonyi shared that the secret of creating great music is by singing from true inspiration, not striving to make hits. The artiste is more active on social media especially Instagram and Twitter and he often uses these platforms to invite his fans into his ongoing activities.
For this particular concert, Mbonyi will be in Australia on the invitation of Rise and Shine World Inc, a religious organisation led by Australia-based Rwandan Bishop Justin Alain.
Rise and Shine World Ministry has been engaged in various activities in Rwanda such as supporting young talented gospel musicians. Currently, the ministry, in partnership with Jam Global Events and Irera Rehoboth Group Ltd, is conducting a second edition of gospel talent search in the country. For the year 2023, Rise and Shine World talent hunt is expected to include Kenya and Australia.
Mbonyi is expected to have a series of shows in various cities including Brisbane on January 14, Sydney on January 21, Perth on January 28, Melbourne on February 4 and Adelaide on February 11, 2023.
According to Bishop Alain, his ministry decided to invite Mbonyi as a gospel minister who God rises up today, adding that working with him will help the ministry in its mission of spreading the gospel of Christ to many.
“During the tour, the gospel of Christ will be shared mostly through music. I take this opportunity to invite everyone to never miss this intensive praise and worship moment,” he noted.
Alain added: “Rise and Shine World Inc and its partners wish everyone across the world a happy new year 2023. May it be a year of peace and love, unity and reconciliation, revival and salvation.”
