Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7
We all worry, and we cannot seem to help ourselves. No matter how much we say we trust in God’s provision, there are always things we tend to get anxious about. Whether they are big things (medical diagnoses, career changes, the death of loved ones) or little everyday things (being late, broken or spilled things, finding time to study God’s Word,) there are plenty of things to fret over.
But worrying defies faith. God is telling us in this verse not to worry about anything, for He knows all that we are facing. His Son, Jesus, dealt with a lot of the same problems and emotions we are, and He is there to comfort us. Give all your worries to our Loving Father and trust He will help you deal with them. You’ll be amazed at the peace it will give you
