Celebrated US-based videographer, Peter Butoto, also known as Kavoma arrived in Kigali on November 22 ahead of a special thanksgiving live concert- ‘Yesu Arakora.’
Organised by the duo of Pastor Benjamin Serugo and Chance Mbanza known by stage names as Ben and Chance, the show will take place on December 11 at Christian Life Assembly Church, Nyarutarama.
Butoto is set to record live videos for the entire concert, including popular songs by Ben and Chance.
Speaking upon arrival, Butoto said he is happy to return to the country that nurtured him and to meet his friends and family again.
He noted that he decided to be part of the show because it was organised by brilliant gospel musicians whom he loves so much, adding that the duo is popular and has a big number of followers in the United States where he resides.
Butoto has produced video clips of songs for different popular gospel artistes such as: Adrien Misigaro, Gentil Misigaro and Tumaini Byinshi.
According to the duo, Yesu Arakora live concert is aimed to acknowledge God’s marvellous works upon their family. The show comes in at the time when the family is blessed with three children after a bitter period of three years where they stayed together without a child.
“The show is aligned with our real testimony; we have seen God doing great things in our family and we want to witness to all people that Jesus works. We are witnesses,” Chance said. She assured people who will attend the concert to have their souls revived.
Besides, musician Benjamin Serugo was in October this year ordained as a new assistant pastor to support the pastors in leadership and administrative roles at Foursquare Gospel church in Kimironko.
The Pastor, who is also the elder brother of videographer Butoto, said they invited him because they love what he does, considering the touch that is depicted in other videos he has produced.
The singing duo is popularly known for their groovy music and the crucial part they play in backing up some gospel music groups in the country like Alarm Ministries and Joyous Melody of Foursquare Gospel Church in Kimironko.
“Yesu Arakora” and “Amarira” came as their best songs to profoundly express their feelings about the blessings of God unto their family.
Some of their other popular songs include Ugushikamijeho, Impano y’Ubuzima, Uhoraho among others.
The duo is also known for their drama series, Ibihe, which aims to help scale down divorce rates in the country.
Yesu Arakora Live concert will be graced by different local gospel artistes including Papi Claver and Dorcas, Dr Savant Ngira and Aime Frank
