Israel Mbonyi, yet again showed up at the Iwacu Muzika show, on Saturday, August 14, serving his fans with some great performance, in a concert that was streamed via online platforms, since people are not allowed to attend such events due to Covid-19 preventive measures.
Music lovers didn’t wait for the show to react, as comments began hours before the gospel icon singer took the stage.
Mbonyi’s performance ran for about 1 hour and a half featuring his popular songs like Mbwira, Urwandiko, Karame, Ibihe and Baho.
When it began, people took to social media to express their happiness about the performance.
“Thank you, Israel Mbonyi for blessing us last night. I take you as the Benjamin Dube of Rwanda. God bless you abundantly,” one gospel music lover tweeted.
A one Christian Imela wrote: “Thanks to Israel Mbonyi. May God bless you and the team!”
Gretta Rugema expressed her happiness too, thanking Mbonyi for his wonderful performance and making her night beautiful,
“You are a blessing,” she wrote on social media.
Mbonyi also posted via his twitter handle,
“Happy to serve with you. Thanks a lot for tuning in, adding the harshtags of Iwacu Muzika and staying at home, stay safe.”
In a brief interview conducted by show host Lucky Nzeyimana a few minutes before the show began, Israel Mbonyi said gospel music in the country has developed compared to previous years, adding that gospel music gives people hope.
Mbonyi wants his music to be educational for everyone listening and encourages churches to support artistes.
