China: Yichang International Christian Fellowship Worship Team releases debut song

A team of worshippers made up of students and employees living in the Chinese city of Yichang has released their debut song, as they look to spread the good news of Jesus in the Asian country.

Dubbed “Abba Father,” the song’s message is about God as the creator who is able to answer all the questions of life, and give guidance to his people – when they call upon His Name.

The choir is made up of 22 members, gathering at the Yichang International Christian Fellowship church (YICF).

During an interview with The Gospel Time Rwanda, the team explained that the song’s inspiration was mostly drawn from two scriptures: Jeremiah 33:2, and Matthew 6:9-10.

“This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name: Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.” – Jeremiah 33:2 says.

Prominent Lovet Kativu, the Choir Spokesperson reflected on the faithfulness of God in answering prayer, and how things go in the right direction if people call upon Him and He establishes His Kingdom in their hearts,

“What we see and can’t see are the works of our Creator. Thus if we call upon him, He is faithful to answer us. Some people struggle to do God’s Will, but when His kingdom is established in your heart, His will shall be done in your life,” he said.

Abba Father is the first song on the team’s debut album which they expect to finish within less than 4 months.

“The name of Jesus,” “Pray,” “Glorious,” and “The way,” are some more songs on the album.

As they work to make songs in China, the team faces some challenges, for example: language barrier,

“Language barrier is still a challenge. But we hope that one day we will minister a song in Chinese,” Kativu said.
