It was the show that took place when many countries around the world have shut down all the activities that bring together people in mass in order to combat the spread of the COVID 19. Burundi is one of the few African countries that have never put in place measures to combat the pandemic.
Hundreds of believers on Sunday, September 20 filled up Eglise Guerison Des Ames Nyakabiga to grace the ‘True Praise gospel show’ organized by True Promises Ministries-Bujumbura Branch.
The show was held to mark the end of 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting. The period is exclusively designed for True Promises members around the world. It is held twice a year.
In Bujumbura, the theme of this period was drawn from Isaiah 55:6 “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call on Him while He is near.”
The show has featured various performances by the guest singers such as Gisubizo Ministry-Bujumbura branch, Adonai Ministries and Trumpet Sound Worship team.
True Promises Ministries has also recognized the pastors who have been contributing to their daily activities.
Bishop Manasseh Mberabagabo of Guerison des Ames was recognized for his parental support to the team.
According to Jean Claude Nzirimwo, the in charge of Evangelism, this recognition is of great significance to them.
“At Guerison is where we grew up. Church leaders have provided us with a lot of help. Our discipline we have today as a team is the result of our care from the church. We really thank God for the support of our spiritual parents,”Nzirimwo said.
Rev. Pastor Etienne Musore was also recognized for taking part in a two-day crusade.
Nzirimwo added that the team was very grateful to the Father for standing next to them during the special programme and said they had highly felt God’s presence.
“We are grateful for this opportunity amid the Coronavirus pandemic that is devastating the entire world. We thank God for what He is doing in Bujumbura,” he said.
