All set for Gospel comedy show

Organisers of the first ever gospel comedy show in Rwanda have said that everything is in place for the event.

The event will take place on December 9 at Kigali Serena Hotel starting from 5:00 pm.

Organised by a comedian Clapton Kibonge, the show will feature some popular comedians such Gratien Niyitegeka known as Seburikoko, Michael, Sengazi, Joe Babu and the Messengers among others.

The show is dubbed, “Life is Funny.”

Talking to the Gospel Time, Kibonge said that the event means an expansion of gospel industry in Rwanda.

According to him, the gospel industry is rapidly growing and different genres have been in place including various styles of music like Hip Hop, traditional and drama.

“The gospel industry is expanding. I have realised how Christians love comedies basing on personal experience of previous comedy shows. Christians attend comedian shows in huge and I later wondered why can’t we have gospel humor shows that are meaningful to the believers,” he said.

Kibonge continued saying gospel based humor shows aim at entertaining people with good messages about the scripture, revealing that during the show the messages will not go out the content of the Bible.

Serge Iyamuremye was invited to thrill the audience.

Kibonge started acting as a comedian since2014 and so far he has produced six humor songs.

During the show, he plans to launch another brand new song titled “Imiyaga.” Among other songs include Telephone, Ihangane, Muri Yesu harimo Go, and Garuka.

The gospel humor show will be an annual event featuring other upcountry sessions to attract more people among other talented comedians.

Entrance fee is Rwf 10,000 for VIPs and Rwf 5,000 for regular.
