Husband-and-wife duo Ben Serugo and Chance Abigail Mbanza Juru have shown a promising gospel music career as they launched their first album –‘Izina Rya Yesu Rirakomeye’ in which the couple encourages people to receive Jesus Christ as personal savior and worship Him in truth and spirit.
The debut of their album comprising songs in Kinyarwanda and Swahili was held on Sunday evening at Kigali Serena Hotel’s hall.
The show which attracted hundreds of gospel lovers started at 5:00 pm and run through 8 pm.
By using the message that their album contains, they say they want to bring people closer to God, give hope to the hopeless, and also to encourage those who feel burdened through music.
Regarding the motivation for their album, Serugo noted that it is inspired by the biblical verse Joshua 24:15.
Under House of Worship Ministry since 2015, Ben and Chance announced their joint album after four years of shared gigs and marriage.
The show started with a sermon on how great is the name of Jesus delivered by Dr. Bishop Fidele Masengo of Foursquare Gospel Church in Kimironko.
In the oration, Bishop Masengo preached that Jesus is the only special name through which the world was saved.
The show attracted other performers including Alarm Ministries, Healing worship team and Aline Gahongayire.
Taking the stage around 6:15 pm, long -waited performers Ben and Chance received a warm welcome from the audience.
They performed some of the songs on new album including Ineza y’Umwami wanjye, Urera Mana Nzima among others.
